Sapiens - Yuval Noah Harari

In Sapiens, author Yuval Noah Harari questions the idea that humans (Homo sapiens, or Sapiens) are evolution's biggest success story. Humans are more populous and industrious than we've ever been, which suggests—at least on the surface—that we're thriving as a species.

atomic habits.jpg

Atomic Habits - James Clear

Atomic Habits is the definitive guide to breaking bad behaviors and adopting good ones in four steps, showing you how small, incremental, everyday routines compound into massive, positive change over time.

rewire your mindset.jpg

Rewire your Mindset - Brian Keane

In 'Rewire Your Mindset', the bestselling author of 'The Fitness Mindset', shows you how to take control of your mental, emotional and physical world. If you have ever set a goal for yourself and then self-sabotaged the moment you hit it, let fear dictate what you do, been emotionally broken by a failure, lacked confidence and felt full of self-doubt or let negative people influence you, then this is the book for you.

dark blue.jpg

Dark Blue by Shane Carthy

A young promising Dublin Gaelic footballer tells his story of depression and sport.  One of the important lessons to be learned from this book is the necessity to be guided by relevant specialists. I feel this should be mandatory reading for all young people, especially those who may be similarly afflicted.

Books that have been recommended to me

books 2.jpg

This is a list of some of the books I plan on reading and why, with links below to  where you can find them also.

"Knowledge is power" - Francis Bacon

Rich Dad, Poor Dad - Robert T. Kiyosaki

Rich Dad Poor Dad is about Robert Kiyosaki and his two dads—his real father (poor dad) and the father of his best friend (rich dad)—and the ways in which both men shaped his thoughts about money and investing. He says that his poor dad went to Stanford and earned a Ph.D., and his rich dad never finished the eighth grade. The book consists of 8 chapters, lessons that everyone must learn. The central message conveyed by Kiyosaki is that you don’t need to earn a high income to be rich.

Unscripted - Mj Demarco

Unscripted is your pen to rewrite a future that's already been written, don't wait for life's twilight to dream about time machines, it exists in the moment. The opportunity to resurrect your dreams and change history awaits. Has life regressed into paying bills and living for a weekend?

How to win friends and influence people - Dale Carnegie

How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie is a self-help classic that reads as a life manual. The core idea is that you can change other people’s behavior simply by changing your own. It teaches you the principles to better understand people, become a more likable person, improve relationships, win others over, and influence behavior through leadership.

Outliers - Malcolm Galdwell

Outliers explains why “the self-made man” is a myth and what truly lies behind the success of the best people in their field, which is often a series of lucky events, rare opportunities and other external factors, which are out of our control.

Think and Grow Rich - Napoleon Hill

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill examines the psychological power of thought and the brain in the process of furthering your career for both monetary and personal satisfaction. Originally published in 1937, this is one of the all-time self-help classics and a must read for investors and entrepreneurial types.

The Power of Now - Eckhart Tolle

The Power of Now shows you that every minute you spend worrying about the future or regretting the past is a minute lost, because really all you have to live in is the present, the now, and gives you actionable strategies to start living every minute as it occurs.

Richest man in Babylon - George S. Clason

The Richest Man in Babylon is a 1926 book by George S. Clason that dispenses financial advice through a collection of parables set 4,000 years ago in ancient Babylon. The book remains in print almost a century after the parables were originally published, and is regarded as a classic of personal financial advice. If you want to learn how to save money whilst also improving your overall wealth, then this is your book.

HomoDeus - Yuval Noah Harari
